Hi, It’s me! It’s been a while, I know, I have some explaining to do. So here I am.
Last time we connected I had just finished running 80K in one day. What a rush that was. I was so excited about that accomplishment, still am. I had a lot to say!
Then George Floyd was murdered and there were so many voices that needed to be heard. There were so many people educating and needing to be educated, that it didn’t feel right to take attention away from so many important messages. So instead I chose to take that time to listen and learn, and to be educated by those willing to teach. It was time very well spent. I still have a lot to learn, and will continue to do so.
I am back now, not because things have changed, but because there are still children in our community that need to know we care. School will be starting up in September in one form or another, and throughout this pandemic The Children’s Foundation has still found ways to help families in our community. Our support is still so very needed. For a lot of families and children, this pandemic has been really hard, and not just because of isolation and change. For many family’s incomes were cut, food supply was changed or decreased and necessary routines were disrupted. There are children out there looking forward to school, not just to see their friends, but for a sense of safety, security, and for food. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could all be part of that solution? If you can help, please donate here.
I have still been running. I did try to run 100 K on June 22. I was unsuccessful, I only made it through 67 K. I was disappointed, but luckily, I can try again. And the big day is tomorrow! I am feeling better prepared this time, and I am optimistic.
I will keep you posted.
Be safe, be well, and always be kind!
